בתחרות אירווזיון 2006 מסתבר שנעשה נסיון הראשון לשידור בטכלוגית ה- HD. הקלטת התחרות בטכנולגיה זאת היתה הקלטה נסיונית ומעולם לא שודר. שידור תחרות אירוויזיוון 2006 ששודר ברחבי אירופה שודר עדיין בטכנולגיית השידור הישנה.
It was found out that there was an experimental broadcasting in High Definition Technology of ESC 2006. Actually the contest itself was broadcast in the old technology.
