אזרבייג'אן בחרה בזמרת סאמרה Samra לייצגה בתחרות האירוויזיון הבאה בשטוקהולם. שם השיר שתשיר מעל במת האירוויזיון נראה בשם "קסם" Miracle.
אין זו הפעם הראשונה שהיא מנסה לייצג את ארצה בתחרות זו. היא ניסתה בעבר כשהתמודדה בקדם האזארי שנערך בשנת 2012. בעקבות נסיון זה , היא זכתה באהדת הקהל.
בשנת 2015 היא השתתפה בתכנית הריאלטי דה וויס בטורקיה והגיעה ל-4 הפיינליסטים.
בעקבות הישגיה , רשות השידור האזארית החליטה שהיא תניף את הדגל האזארי בשטוקהולם.
